Robbie Williams - Gary Barlow To Be Robbie Williams' Best Man
Robbie Williams is reportedly going to ask Take That singer Gary Barlow and best friend Jonathan Wilkes to be joint best men at his wedding to actress Ayda Field.
Robbie Williams is reportedly going to ask Gary Barlow to be best man at his wedding.
The 'Bodies' singer has decided to get the Take That frontman to take on the duty instead of his close pal Mark Owen when he marries fiancee Ayda Field.
A member of Robbie's family is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Rob is very fond of Gary and considers him a solid rock in his life.
"Mark was always one of his fun time pals, but Rob really wants to thank Gary and show his respect for their special bond."
Robbie's long-time best friend Jonathan Wilkes will also act as a best man at the 36-year-old pop star's wedding.
The former Take That bandmates had a high-profile feud following Robbie's departure from the group in 1995.
However, in recent years the pair have patched up their differences and it is believed at some point Robbie will rejoin Take That.
He recently said: "It will happen - but not in the next two years. There are contracts to fulfil, then I can do what I want."

"Never mind Jason, someone will recognise you soon"
Piers Morgan, jurado del programa "Britain's got talent" comenta un encuentro casual con Jason el día 5 de Mayo que resultó ser bastante anecdótico. Esto es lo que nos cuenta:
'Hello, Mr Morgan,' smiled Jason Orange from Take That. (As I said on Britain's Got Talent recently, I was the band's official biographer and knew them all before they'd ever had a hit.)
'Fancy joining me for a co ffee?' he suggested, so I did, and we sat basking in the glorious mid-afternoon sunshine, chewing the fat about life, the universe and the perils of fame.
Sir Paul McCartney was in the papers today revealing how he had a rulebook for dealing with fans ('I don't sign things or do pictures if I'm eating or in B&Q,' he said, to which Jason observed, 'I agree with him, but I'd love to know if he really goes into B&Q.')
'It's funny how things have changed for you since we first met,' he said. 'You used to be the one writing about celebrities, now you are one yourself.'
At which point, a young teenage girl asked me for an autograph.
'What are you doing here?' she asked.
'I'm auditioning this guy for Britain's Got Talent,' I replied, pointing at Jason. She looked at him, didn't show a flicker of recognition, thanked me and walked off . As we both laughed at the irony of this moment, she returned.
'She's worked out who you are,' I whispered. But she hadn't. She just wanted a picture of me as well.
As I posed, two lads in a lorry shouted out, 'Oi, Piers, we've got talent!' at the top of their voices. Again, not an eyebrow raised towards the international pop superstar sitting with me.
'Never mind, mate,' I consoled Jason. ' Someone will recognise you soon.'
As if on cue, a middle-aged lady walked up to him.
'Excuse me?' Jason turned and flashed his best celebrity smile.
'Could you look after my dog while I go inside?' We both burst out laughing.
'Of course,' he replied politely, as she tethered her terrier to the door. 'No problem.'
It was, by sublime coincidence, Stella McCartney. She sat down with us.
'What on earth are you two doing?'
'We're playing a game of Who's More Famous?' I replied. 'And I'm winning.'
'Try, Who's More Popular? and see how you get on,' she suggested.
After an amusing few minutes (Stella's remarkably down-to-earth given her absurdly legendary parentage), she sprang to her feet and began running o ff again.
'Does my bum look all right?' she shouted back.
I examined the relevant body part closely as it wiggled o ff down the High Street and shouted my verdict: 'Looks fabulous from here!'
Then a sudden thought flashed into my head. 'By the way, does your old man ever go into B&Q?' But, alas, she'd gone.
As Jason and I said our goodbyes, a man in a motorised wheelchair passed us, stopped a few feet on, and performed a slow U-turn.
'This is it,' I said, excitedly. The man wheeled back towards us, then diverted at the last minute into the restaurant.
Jason sighed. 'I'll never live this down.'..."

The release earned Winehouse a BRIT Award, five Grammys and three Ivor Novello songwriting awards. She is currently working on her third studio album.
The Scissor Sisters' eponymously-titled debut album became the biggest selling album of 2004 in the UK, thanks to the success of self-penned singles including "Laura" , "Take Your Mama" , "Mary" and "Filthy/Gorgeous" . Could it be maj-ic
GARY BARLOW has been tapped up by The Queen to be her official party planner.
Her Maj invited the TAKE THAT star for a brew at Buck House to discuss organising two big shindigs.
The landmarks are her 85th birthday next year and the Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
Gaz certainly knows how to throw a party, boasting a black book filled with more celebs than you could shake a corgi at.
So the Queen's advisers reckoned the Bizarre Lord was the man to arrange the biggest Royal parties since her Golden Jubilee in 2002.
A source said: "Her Majesty has been made well aware of his charity work and the events he has put together.
"Gary's got the power to pull in some big names and ensure it's a party to match the occasion. The timing means he can get the ball rolling early and start ringing his contacts."
The singer demonstrated his organisational skills with two high-profile charity events last year. He convinced a group of celebs including CHERYL COLE, CHRIS MOYLES and RONAN KEATING to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief.
They scaled the 19,330ft peak to raise more than £3.4million.
Later he put together the Children In Need Rocks gig at the Royal Albert Hall with an all-star line-up including Cheryl, SIR PAUL McCARTNEY, DIZZEE RASCAL and LEONA LEWIS. The concert, which also saw Take That and ROBBIE WILLIAMS share a stage for first time in years, raised more than £2.1million.
The Queen is not the only powerful figure to ask for Gary's help recently.
DAVID CAMERON roped in the songwriter as part of his election campaign and the pair launched a new singing competition for schools.
Gaz clearly has the magic touch, so no wonder Her Maj has requested his services.
All his charity work last year led to calls for him to be knighted. If the Royals enjoy the show, Gary will have one knee on the red velvet cushion.
