Take That deny Glastonbury rumours

Take That have ruled themselves out of playing at Glastonbury festival next year.

The band, who yesterday announced a mammoth UK arena tour, have been the centre of speculation about this year’s as-of-yet unnamed headliners. Rumours have been flying that the band may perform the Somerset event on June 24th-26th this year. The rumours were also given unexpected support yesterday as the band had left the dates free from their touring schedule.

However, the band were keen to end any speculation, so they addressed the issue yesterday in an interview with BBC Radio One: "No, we're not," Gary Barlow announced, when asked if they were playing.

Mark Owen added: "I love going as a spectator, I've been a few times. We have a big production, we have a big show, I don't think we could put our stage in there, I don't think it's possible. If we're having a good time we might get on the bus and go down. We can go and take our caravan and watch a few other bands."
