ChrisTTmas presenTT

GARY BARLOW has given TAKE THAT fans an early Christmas present – and promised the manband will be back in December.
I told you last week that Gary, MARK OWEN, HOWARD DONALD and JASON ORANGE were holding secret talks about a comeback.
And Gaz admitted the news after picking up a gong at the Ivors bash which honours top songwriters.
He revealed: “We will be back by Christmas. We couldn’t stay away.
“I haven’t written the songs yet but we are going to be back. There should be a tour as well.”
Gary was at the awards in London’s plush Grosvenor House Hotel with Howard.
The lads are still looking after themselves even though they’re on a break – and Gaz is clearly still off the muffins. He said: “You better start getting in shape. I’ve got a challenge for you next year that you’ll have to be fit for.”
I hope Jason’s not out of break dancing action and they need a replacement.
When the tour gets sorted Gary wants 1990s boy band rivals LET LOOSE to support. If you’ve spent the last decade trying to forget them, here’s a reminder.
The trio’s biggest song was No2 Crazy For You and they also had hits with Seventeen and One Night Stand. The band have a MySpace campaign to see if fans want them to reunite.
And one man certainly does.
Gary told me: “Let Loose are due back. They were one of my favourite bands of the ‘90s. They can support us on tour if they want.”
And the TT comeback wasn’t the only surprise of the night — PHIL COLLINS made the audience laugh. He isn’t a man I ever thought would get a giggle for anything other than his acting in Buster.
But the drummer earned a chuckle when accepting his Outstanding Contribution gong.
He said: “I can’t get away without thanking the gorilla. He is far more talented and better looking than me so I am going to offer him the Genesis job.”Phil is pictured with fellow award-winner MIKA to his right.
Other guests included KATE NASH who missed out on the Best Contemporary Song prize, and MARK RONSON who supported AMY WINEHOUSE, winner of the Best Song gong.
Meanwhile Take That’s former rivals BOYZONE are launching their comeback on Sunday. And the TT lads have some advice to stop the Irish group flopping like EAST 17 and 5IVE.
Gary said: “They have to come out with new material.”
Howard added: “You see so many groups come and go.”
After scooping two Brits in February the lads planned a year out. But they couldn’t stay away and are now working towards a mammoth Christmas tour.
Gary added: “We’re workaholics and missed each other. But we’re together and it’s great.”
Please excuse me. I’m off to break into a rendition of Back For Good.
