Take That singer Gary Barlow has revealed that his original Madame Tussauds waxwork was never melted down to be used for another figure as initially thought.
In his 2006 autobiography, My Take, the singer wrote that his waxwork had been used to create a Britney Spears model after the band's demise.
"Why only Britney? They could have made all three of Destiny's Child,” he jokingly wrote in the book.
But Barlow has now revealed that the waxwork was actually put in storage – and has since returned following Take That's successful comeback.
"What annoyed me more was that when Take That came back and were successful again, my waxwork suddenly reappeared out of nowhere, yet slightly aged,” he told The Sun.
“They obviously keep them in storage. I don't know which is worse."
Take That are due to kick off their huge UK Progress tour next month, which will feature Robbie Williams.

Howard pinchará en Ibiza este verano
TAKE THAT are busy rehearsing for their record-breaking tour - but at least one member is also looking ahead to after the stadium shows.
HOWARD DONALD has booked in huge gigs DJing in Ibiza this summer after getting the call from dance don JUDGE JULES.
Manning the decks will certainly give Howard's aching limbs a break.
Howard - most famous for his slick dance moves and vocals on Never Forget - will spin house music at superclub Eden just three weeks after the band's last Progress Live date in Munich.
His Judgement Sundays bookings, starting on August 21, put him up there among big-name DJs such as MARCO V, EDDIE HALLIWELL, FERRY CORSTEN and Judge Jules himself.
So far Howard has two nights lined up at Eden's room 2 but is likely to be looking around for other bookings on the White Isle.
A source says: "Howard's been DJing for years now after taking it up when he was in the wilderness after the group's split in 1996.
"At first he wasn't taken very seriously but now he's well respected.
"He's focused on the tour right now but is also excited about these DJ dates.
"To get the call from Judge Jules is a big deal.
"He'll be playing alongside huge names from house and techno but it will certainly be a different story to live shows with his group."
Howard, often known as DJ HD, will switch from playing 80,000-seat stadiums with huge production and screaming fans to a sweaty room with a bassy PA system and bongoed blokes with their tops off.
Bandmates JASON ORANGE, GARY BARLOW, ROBBIE WILLIAMS and MARK OWEN are already fans of Howard's dance production, which he works on alongside the DJing.
On their last Take That tour they played one of his remixes during the show.
With their latest album Progress being more dance-influenced than ever, you can bet Howard will try to slip some TT remixes into his DJ sets too.
Hardcore clubbers will be mortified if they ever work out what they are raving to.

We’re an old boyband
IT'S hard to imagine TAKE THAT have much to be insecure about.
But GARY BARLOW has found his bandmates' Achilles heel - the signs of old age.
The cheeky singer, who hit 40 three months ago, has been upsetting the elder statesmen, HOWARD DONALD - who is 43 in a fortnight - and JASON ORANGE, 40, by ribbing them about getting on a bit.
Howard said: "I am very sensitive about my age. Gary will make jokes that I'm 46 or 47 and it really p***** me off. I feel like I'm still fit enough to go on, I don't feel my age."
The lads might be fitter than most 30-year-olds but they are showing some signs of wear and tear. Howard ended up in hospital four years ago after his lung collapsed when he tried the splits during a gig in Milan.
These days there must be a lot of Deep Heat knocking around back-stage. 
Even young 'un MARK OWEN is getting nervy about the length of the hair in his lughole.
Mark, 39, said: "I'm pleased we have got this far through our lives - almost halfway hopefully, that's quite an achievement."
If KEITH RICHARDS has made it to the ripe old age of 67, there's more than a whisker's chance this lot will one day collect their bus passes.
Troublemaker Gary seems to be the only star happy to be approaching middle age. He said: "People still find it hard to believe I'm 40.
"Actually I'm not bothered about age. I'm really happy and it's lovely to be 40, I'd recommend it to anyone. Music is a young person's industry but you want a few of the older bands like us around.
"We don't have a plan for how long it is going to last."
Work has started on getting match fit for the epic Progress tour, kicking off on May 30.
Perhaps the eye-catching cover of the album should look more like the version on the left.
More than £15million has been spent on the set for the gigs and the lads are competing to see who'll be the fittest.
Gary and 37-year-old ROBBIE WILLIAMS even have money riding on who can lose the most timber.
One thing is for sure - the interest in the manband won't be shrinking any time soon, unlike some other appendages.

Arctic Monkeys frontman apologises for Take That slurs
With Take That tickets for their upcoming UK tour in high demand, Alex Turner has apologised for disparaging remarks he made about the group several years ago.
The Arctic Monkeys frontman referred to the reformed boyband as “a load of old b*****ks” back in 2006.
But, speaking to NME, he has now admitted his comments were misjudged.
“We love Gary Barlow," said the Sheffield-born rock star.
"I think I really offended him a few years ago though, which I'm sorry about. I didn't understand it then. Didn't know what was going on, trying to ruffle some feathers."
Take That have enjoyed phenomenal success since reforming in 2006.
Last year saw Robbie Williams rejoin the band and Take That subsequently announced their first tour as a five-piece in 16 years.
The tour gets underway at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on May 27th, with support coming from the Pet Shop Boys.

Mark Owen Donates Take That Tickets To Charity Auction
Take That star Mark Owen is boosting a drive to raise $2.4 million (£1.5 million) for a special school near his home by donating 10 executive concert tickets to its charity auction.
The British singer is a patron of The Rainbow Charity, which runs an educational establishment for autistic children in south west London.
Organisers are striving to raise funds so they can provide lessons for even more needy children - and the Shine singer was happy to help out by donating five pairs of tickets for Take That's upcoming sold-out show at London's Wembley Stadium in July (11).
A statement on the charity's official website reads, "Our patron, Mark Owen has kindly donated us 5 pairs of executive tickets from the band's personal ticket allocation, for the Sold Out Take That Progress Live 2011 gig at Wembley on Tuesday 5th July 2011.
"The tickets are for executive seats - not widely available to the general public - so snap up this golden opportunity to watch the gig from the comfort of the best seats in the house and place your bids!!"
The tickets will go up for auction on eBay.com on 30 May (11).

Take That hit the creche barrier
THE TAKE THAT tour bus will have a bigger creche than groupie enclosure when the Progress Tour hits the road next month.
Back in the day GARY BARLOW, MARK OWEN, HOWARD DONALD, JASON ORANGE and ROBBIE WILLIAMS made the most of their celebrity status and did serious damage with their female fanbase.
But Rob, who rejoined the band last year, has now joked about how the groupie count is not what it was.
He said: "To make the entourage bigger now, I would have to have sex - but I am married."
In the manband's heyday Robbie probably rattled up the most notches on the bedpost.
But Gary, Mark and Howard are all married with kids now, leaving Jason as the only one working his magic on the ladies with his effeminate Manc charms.
Now that Robbie has also settled down with AYDA FIELD, the tour will be a far more civilised affair.
Speaking about his marriage, Robbie said: "We have a great relationship and never fall out.
"We stay in an awful lot. It helps me drop my shoulders and relax a bit."
They must have more than one remote control in their household then.

Take That's Progress Live 2011 Tour kicks off towards the end of next month and, just when we thought we couldn't take any more excitement, the most successful duo in UK music history have been announced as very special guests for the 37-date extravaganza…
Pet Shop Boys, who Robbie collaborated with on his single She's Madonna and Rudebox album track We're The Pet Shop Boys, will be joining Take That on tour and, needless to say, Robbie is delighted: “I’m a huge Pet Shop Boys fan so for me it will be an absolute joy to be able to watch them every night.”
Speaking of the recent announcement, Pet Shop Boys said: "We are delighted to accept Take That’s invitation to be part of their Progress show and tour which is undoubtedly going to be one of the most exciting events of 2011. We look forward to every night being a huge celebration of pop music.”
They'll be warming up the crowds with a 40-minute set which will include highlights of their recent Pandemonium tour and was designed by Es Devlin, who is also part of the creative team working on the Progress Live 2011 tour.
The duo have sold over 50 million records and scooped seven platinum, two gold and four silver albums in the UK alone. In 2009 they picked up the BRITs' Outstanding Contribution To Music award, an accolade Robbie himself picked up the following year in 2010.
“Pet Shop Boys was the first CD I ever bought” said Gary. “I've followed their whole career and always loved their unique approach to records and live performance. That combined with two lovely people means we’re in for a great tour.” Jason added, “I’m flattered and very happy they’ve agreed to do it. They’re so talented; I thought they’d be above it and us.”

Gary Barlow rules out replacing Simon Cowell on the X Factor
Gary Barlow is trying to play down speculation that he’s clinched a £2million deal to do the X Factor job that his bandmate, Robbie Williams, couldn’t handle.
The move follows claims that the Take That frontman is just ‘days away’ from signing up to replace Simon Cowell on the British version of the hit show after Williams rejected a deal because he doesn’t want the publicity.
‘Gary had initially snubbed talks after hearing Robbie wanted the job. But when he turned it down, Gary let it be known he was definitely interested,’ a source said.
‘The show bosses are really keen on Gary – they know he is highly knowledgeable about music and probably more reliable than Robbie.’
The insider told Star magazine: ‘They know it won’t become ‘‘The Gary Show’’, which was always the danger with Rob’.
However, the 40-year-old’s camp insisted the claims were ‘not true’.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Jessica Simpson has said she’s up for spoiling Cheryl Cole’s dream of becoming a US X Factor judge.
But Cowell says they are no closer to agreeing the line-up.

Take That - Owen Sells Home
Take That star Mark Owen can finally make a fresh start with his wife following a cheating scandal which rocked their relationship a year ago (Mar10) - the pair has sold its marital home.
The British singer stunned fans last March (10) by confessing to 10 affairs behind his partner Emma's back, as well as revealing he has been nursing a secret drinking problem for more than a decade.
In a bid to move on from his personal issues with Emma and their two children, Elwood, four, and Willow, two, Owen placed the couple's home in Wandsworth, south London on the market.
And now it has emerged the couple sold the property last month (Feb11) for less than its estimated value of $2.6 million (£1.6 million), reports Britain's The Sun.
Owen originally bought the house in 2006 for $1.9 million (£1.2 million).

Take That tell Robbie: We want you Back For Good
TAKE THAT have dropped their biggest hint yet that ROBBIE WILLIAMS will stick with the band.
When Robbie rejoined the chart-topping group after 15 years they only ever planned to release one album and go on a final tour.
But GARY BARLOW, MARK OWEN, JASON ORANGE, and HOWARD DONALD have reignited hopes that he will stay with them after revealing they are writing more songs together for future albums.
Gary, 40, said: "We really want that and this is our dream come true. At the beginning we all said it was going to last for one album, but we're starting to write again, so we don't know now."
Robbie, 37, is still planning to release solo material alongside his band commitments once the record-breaking Progress tour is completed.
Take That fans had feared his recent discussions with Universal over a new solo deal could spell the end for them as a five-piece.
It followed Gary's comments earlier this year that he still saw the Back For Good singers as a four-piece. He said: "Robbie is still desperate to be a solo artist and we can very much exist as a four."
But the group reckon they are now closer than ever. In an interview in the US, Mark, 39, said: "We are a team - at the moment Take That is five people, but it feels more than that. There's a lot of people who have a relationship with us.
"At the beginning there was a fragility to the whole thing, but that has gone now."
Robbie left in acrimonious circumstances back in 1995.
When the group reformed in 2006, it seemed unlikely he would ever return. The band have admitted that it took a lot of effort from all sides to bring him back last year.
Robbie now claims he no longer argues with the others.
He said: "We are a cohesive unit. Hopefully there'll be another album with the five of us, but we don't know if it'll be the next one."

Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow in diet wager
ROBBIE WILLIAMS and GARY BARLOW are at war again – over who can lose the most timber.
The TAKE THAT pair have a four-figure bet riding on who shifts most spare tyres before the band's European tour Progress kicks off in May.
Both are unhappy about piling on the beef and have started a strict diet to get match fit.
But Robbie's target weight sounds a bit extreme – he's using CHRISTIAN BALE's skinny character in The Machinist as his motivation.
Robbie said: "Me and Gary vary in weight. We go up and down by the week.
"Gary and the boys were at my house in LA last week when Gary turns to me and says, 'I won't be needing these clothes soon, do you want them?' – 'cos he's going on a diet.
"That was the day I thought, 'Right, if you're eating a lettuce, I'm eating half a lettuce.'
"There is now a serious game on to see who can get the thinnest for the tour.
"You know The Machinist with Christian Bale? I'm going for Christian Bale."
The lads have been stuffing their chops with all sorts of grub during their break since Christmas.
But they each have a personal trainer, and a nutritionist called Jasmine, working with them every day until the tour starts. Their bet only started a week ago so there's a long road ahead before the party kegs are replaced with six-packs.
It's not the first time the lads have had to shape up and get fit to go on the road.
Robbie is a self-confessed muncher of cake and crisps and has been put on "ninja food" loads of times over the years.
The rest of the band don't have to worry – there's more meat on a butcher's pencil than on MARK OWEN, HOWARD DONALD and JASON ORANGE put together.
Take That have challenged each other with dares before.
In the 90s they used to keep a tally of their groupie conquests.
It's not as much fun with only Orange juice on offer to the groupies now.

Take That! Comics and manband join together to raise millions for Comic Relief
No.
And you’re not seeing double.
Five of the nation’s favourite comics have become tribute act Fake That for Comic Relief.
The sketch will be shown tonight as part of the Red Nose Day extravaganza.
Fans will see James Corden, 32, become Gary Barlow, 40, John Bishop, 44, take on Robbie Williams, 37, Alan Carr, 34, morph into Mark Owen, 39, and Catherine Tate, 42, sport a cropped hairstyle to become Jason Orange, 40.
Little Britain star David Walliams, 39, will be Howard Donald, 42, who he played in his spoof documentary show Rock Profile with Matt Lucas over a decade ago.
David said: “Being in a boy band for the day was really tiring. We had to do all the dance moves – but when Take That did it they were like, 22.
“I’m 39, and I just thought: ‘I can’t handle this!'”
John added: “It was great being in a boyband – except one of us was a girl and none of the rest of us are boys. It’s a good cause, but aside from the charity it was just a great day. I’d have paid to do it.”
The sketch sees the comedians in a Take That tribute band audition, with the real lads behind the judges’ table.
They go to extreme lengths in a bid to impress the manband, with the use of props, numerous costume changes and complicated choreography.
Meanwhile comics Jimmy Carr, 38, Al Murray, 42, and Frank Skinner, 54, have faced their fears as they were waxed by Denise Van Outen, 36.
The trio lost out to Stephen Fry, 53, in their competition to see who could sell the most special edition Walkers crisps.
Frank said: “I got quite a considerable proportion of my surface area waxed! I’d like to say it didn’t hurt but it really did – a lot.”
Comic Relief is on BBC One tonight from 7pm. It switches to BBC Two for the news at 10.30pm, and reverts to BBC One at 11pm.

Robbie Williams 'to sign new solo deal'
Robbie Williams is reportedly planning to return to his solo music career.
The singer, who reunited with Take That eight months ago, is said to be in talks to sign a deal with the group's record company Universal.
A source said: "Robbie's been very committed to this Take That project and can't wait to tour with the guys, but he never said he wouldn't record his own music again.
"It's important for him to have his own solo deal because he is one of the most successful British recording artists.
"Robbie's been very impressed with the way Universal have sold and promoted Progress, the latest Take That album. He thinks they'd be great for his career."
A close friend added that Williams is committed to the band until the end of the current album campaign but has "every major record company chasing him".

Robbie Williams 'rejects £2m X Factor deal'
Robbie Williams has reportedly turned down a £2million contract to replace the departing Simon Cowell on the judging panel of the next series of the X Factor.
According to Star magazine, the artist has asked for a bigger deal to take part in the upcoming eighth series, which is due to hit UK screens in September, as he is worried about the effect it will have on his marriage.
A source told the magazine: 'With Simon leaving to judge the US show, he's convinced Robbie would be the perfect successor. Rob's likeable, opinionated and funny. 'But money has been a stumbling block. He wants more of an incentive to put himself out there on live TV every week.'
Robbie made his UK TV comeback on the show in October 2009, which was watched by 13 million viewers, and he has since rejoined his former Take That bandmates, with a new tour due to begin later this year.
Rumours have recently been circulating that his wife, Ayda, is considering an offer to star in the next series of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Take That stars in US customs shock
TAKE THAT stars HOWARD DONALD and MARK OWEN were furious after being held for hours in US customs to be quizzed about their visas.
Chart-toppers Howard, 42, and Mark, 39, flew into Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon as they went to visit pal ROBBIE WILLIAMS at his Hollywood home.
But the singers, who flew there Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic, were pulled in for questioning because they had travelled without a working visa - and had to convince airport officials they were not there to work.
Howard drew attention to the pair by accidentally trying to jump the queue for immigration.
A source said: "He thought someone called 'first class' as they approached security. The customs officer actually said 'Air France'."
The pair were eventually let in and the source added: "The lads are often on the LA flight but this visit was exceptionally bad.
"Howard was on the receiving end of the worst of it. They thought he was pulling a fast one, coming in the US to work.
"It was a fraught few hours. Howard was knackered and could have done without the hassle. Mark got through unscathed but it started the trip in the wrong mood."
Bandmates GARY BARLOW and JASON ORANGE, both 40, were not on the trip.

Take That duo confirmed as charity entertainment
Fundraisers at national charity, Caudwell Children, have today confirmed rumours that Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow will be performing alongside Robin Gibb at an exclusive black-tie event in London later this year.
The three stars have donated their time to perform at the ‘Butterfly Benefit’ fundraising event will take place on Thursday May 12th 2011 at the Banqueting House in Whitehall, London.

Take That Tour To Be 'Best Live Show Ever Seen'
Just after revealing their new :’Kidz’ video, pop legends Take That have also made it clear that they intend to make their up and coming tour the “best live show ever seen”.
Gary Barlow, Robbie and the rest of the boys will be embarking on a massive UK tour in the summer, and their show producer Kim Gavin, who is also helping produce the 2012 opening ceremony, is being given a generous budget in an attempt to take the already renowned live performances of Take That to the next level.
Gavin has been given an astonishing £15million, wish can only mean that this tour will the biggest and most epic tour in Take That’s history – even after the massive Circus tour in 2009, which saw the DVD become the UK’s fastest-selling music DVD of all time. The Mancunian group have already sold over a million tickets for the up and coming Progress tour – you can find more information or buy tickets below.
As you can expect with a £15million budget, the whole planning affair will be kept quiet and out of sight, but, according to the Sun, some arrangements have already been made for the concerts – which would see Robbie Williams performing a 40-minute solo, before being joined by the three other members of the group and then ultimately finishing with the original Take That line-up.

Jason’s voice couldn’t Take That
Jason Orange believes Take That robbed him of his voice.
The 40-year-old singer - who is joined in the band by Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Robbie Williams - admitted his time in the group constantly took from him, and he is now “on guard” about the five-some reuniting for the first time since Robbie quit Take That in 1995.
He explained: “I think every person's job either feeds them or takes from them. Take That, for me, the first time, took from me. It gave me money, it gave me a standard of living, but it robbed me of my voice.

Meanwhile, Robbie - who quit Take That in 1995 amid a public feud with Gary Barlow - explained the band have been “grown-up” about the reunion.
He added to Culture magazine: “You see how many bands can't reunite after a falling out and then still do it. The when-hell-freezes-over sort of thing with the Eagles etc.
“Basically, we were all grown-ups about our sh*t, and owned it. If you own your own sh*t, you can move on. And we all did. Take That new tour details
I’VE often regarded Robbie Williams as something of a (s)Marty pants...
Which might go some way to explaining the theme of Take That’s hyped Progress 2011 tour – Back to the Future.
Until now, details have been as secret as the designer of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.
But I can reveal that Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Robbie are planning the most expensive set ever by a British band.
It is inspired by the 1985 classic film starring Michael J Fox as Marty McFly (inset) and features “flying time machines” as driven by Marty, a Christopher Lloyd-style nutty professor and a special retro section with dodgy undercuts, stonewashed denim ’n’ all. I’m told: “U2’s 360 Tour in 2009 cost £61million and Progress may out-do even that.
“The guys are big fans of the Back To The Future movies and want a time machine metaphor to show how they’ve changed.
They are about to audition dancers for the shows, which kick off on May 27 in Sunderland. Adds my source: “The boys are keenly discussing every aspect of the tour and won’t decide on final details until just days before. But it’s bound to be spectacular.”

Mood music test has Take That top of men's charts
Men may not realise it, but songs by Brit winners Take That put them in a good mood.
Ask an average male to name the music that makes them happy and the boy band is low on their list. However, the way their body reacts to the sound of the band tells a different story, according to tests conducted for a mood-boosting campaign by drinks company Tropicana.
A lab experiment saw men and women wired to monitors which recorded physical and mental responses to 30 pieces of music from pop to classical.
The effect of the songs on their heart rate, pulse, skin and brain activity are key indicators of mood swings and research found Take That's hit Greatest Day lifted moods the most.
Among women it was clearly the top song. However, it was second among men to Jump by Van Halen.
However, this was different from what men and women say when asked to name the music that they find the most uplifting.
Out of the 30 songs played, men rated Greatest Day a mere 29th in the list, which suggests they like Take That a lot more than they care to admit.
The top five songs which improved mood the most were Greatest Day, followed by Led Zeppelin's classic Stairway to Heaven, Abba's Dancing Queen, Finally by Ce Ce Peniston, and Jump by Van Halen.
However, when asked to name the five songs they believed improved their mood the most, Sixties' hit You Really Got Me by The Kinks came first.
Dr David Lewis Hodgson of Mindlab International Laboratory, at the Sussex Innovation Centre, Brighton, conducted the research.
"The differences between men's subjective and physical responses clearly show that preconceptions about music tracks do not always relate to their enjoyment," he said.

Coreógrafo de Take That dirigirá la clausura de Londres 2012
Kim Gavin, el director creativo y coreógrafo de los conciertos de Take That, una de las bandas de pop británicas más populares, dirigirá la ceremonia de clausura de los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres en 2012, informaron hoy los organizadores.
Como diseñadora le acompañará Es Devlin, creadora de la gira por Estados Unidos "Monster Ball" de la cantante neoyorquina Lady Gaga.
Además, el productor y compositor de bandas sonoras David Arnold, reponsable entre otros de la música de cinco películas de James Bond, participará en el espectáculo. Arnold, que se hará cargo de la dirección musical, ha sido el productor de trabajos de grandes estrellas como Shirley Bassey o George Michel.
El jefe del comité organizador de los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres, Sebastian Coe, celebró los nombramientos y señaló: "Nos alegramos de de contar con los mejores talentos creativos de Reino Unido", informó DPA.
La ceremonia inaugural y de clausura de los Juegos Olímpicos y los Paralímpicos están "en las mejores manos", añadió.

TAKE THAT met FAKE THAT for the first time yesterday as they filmed a sketch in a London studio for Red Nose Day.
The copycat group - DAVID WALLIAMS, JAMES CORDEN, JOHN BISHOP, CATHERINE TATE and ALAN CARR - will be trying to capture the spirit of the manband.
GARY BARLOW has very high standards and will crack the whip if needed. The look on Walliams's face suggests he already has.
Red Nose Day airs on Friday, March 18.

You know how it is, you do a massive performance in front of millions of people with stripping riot police and macho dancing and everything and after that all you want to do is chill out in your slacks.
Well Take That do anyway. We're not sure what happened to the boys between them finishing their performance and them going to collect their reward for Best British Group but we can only presume that they had to battle through some sort of jumble sale obstacle course to get to the stage.
Just look at them all, offending our eyes with their terrible fashion sense.
Burning our retinas out. Robbie William's harem pant trousers, Marks smoking jacket come cardigan, Gary's shirt tucked into some trousers so high we can only imagine he borrowed them from Simon Cowell.
We're so confused that we think we might have to have a little lie down. Is this what mens fashion is now?
Is this what the world is coming too? Are our boyfriends going to have to start dressing like our father's?
Will we ever get over this terrible feeling? WE JUST DON'T KNOW.
P.S We still fancy you despite your silly clothes. Especially you Jason. Especially you.

Plan B: Take That Copied My BRIT Awards Performance
The boy band opened the ceremony at the O2 Arena accompanied by a over 50 backing dancers dressed as riot policemen.
Plan B's performance later on also had a riot theme and ended with the rapper setting a policeman on fire.
In an interview with The Sun, Plan B – real name Ben Drew – said he only found out that Take That's routine contained riot police on the morning of the show and that it was too late to change.
He said: "I couldn't believe it when I came in and saw their police. I just saw their shields and said, 'What the f*ck is this?'. Theirs was the PG version, though – they were just trying to copy me."
Plan B was named Best British Male at the ceremony on Tuesday, with Take That collecting the award for Best British Group.

Acordaron una suma y fueron a por ello. Sus mujeres y compañeras no estarán muy contentas por la próxima factura que llegue al banco pero fue una noche increíble".
El grupo recibió en la fiesta, patrocinada por Universal, a invitados como Rihanna y Justin Bieber, quienes disfrutaron de comida variada, docenas de botellas de licor y 800 botellas de champán.

It may only take a minute to fall in love, but to reach the zenith of your artistic career can take a while longer, as Take That have discovered.
After 17 No 1 hits, pop world domination, an acrimonious split and a dewy-eyed reunion, the phenomenally successful boy-turned-manband were finally crowned best British group at the Brit awards, 21 years after their first performance on the cheesy late-night TV show The Hitman & Her.
Young pretender Tinie Tempah may have taken home more awards – the rapper received statuettes for both British breakthrough act and best single for the infectious Pass Out – but the night belonged to the veteran band.
It was most certainly the campest, and possibly the most spectacular, opening to any Brit awards, the boys took to the stage flanked by Take That soldiers, who by the end of the performance were only in their underwear.
The revamped Brits were styled as a music-centric event rather than the bacchanalian back-patting exercise of the past. And there was evidence that the 1,000-strong voting academy, which this year included music performers for the first time as well as the usual promoters, producers, publishers and retailers, wanted to celebrate "quality" music.
They were not left wanting. A virtuoso performance by Adele of her song Someone Like You entranced and enchanted the arena in equal measure before, in perhaps the most telling illustration of the change, folk singer-songwriter Laura Marling accepted the award for best British female solo artist.
While her precisely written and haunting album I Speak Because I Can received critical acclaim, it peaked at No 4 in the charts and she has remained under the mainstream radar.
Her victory is just the sort of left-of-centre award that the new Brits chairman David Joseph was looking for when he overhauled the voting academy.
The same, too, could be said for folk band Mumford & Sons, who have proved that banjos are no barriers to mass appeal, and took home the most coveted award of the night, the best British album, for their debut release Sigh No More.
But the revamp could not deflect from the crowning of Take That, the peak of an extraordinary 12 months in which the group's most recent album, Progress, became the fastest-selling of the decade with first-day sales of more than 235,000, the highest since Oasis released Be Here Now in 1997.
Take That's accompanying tour – the biggest in UK history – sold out in minutes, and promises to be the most spectacular that "Thatters", as their fans are known, have ever seen.
The band split amid accusations, insults and alcoholism in 1995. Robbie Williams, ever the bad boy of the group, went on to achieve huge success as a solo act – and has won more Brit awards than any other artist. His debut album, Life Thru a Lens, went straight to No 1, and hits such as Angels lodged themselves firmly in the karaoke canon.
But after Williams's career hit the buffers, the newly-reformed four-piece Take That went on to have success without himwith The Ultimate tour in 2006, and The Circus album and tour in 2008.
After winning the award for best group, Mark Owen tear-jearkingly turned to Williams. "Rob, thanks for coming back mate," he said over the screams. Williams response was fittingly a throw back to the 90s, as he shouted "shabba!" into the mike.
Gary Barlow, the main songwriter of the band, recently turned 40, joining Jason Orange who is the same age, and Howard Donald, 42, in the realm of fortysomethings. Williams and Owen are not far behind at 37 and 39.
Take That's award – the first time they have been crowned best British band despite three previous nominations – comes eight months after Williams announced he was rejoining the band.
Plan B, real name Ben Drew, whose concept album The Defamation Of Strickland Banks went to No 1 in the UK, was named best British male solo artist for his blend of rap-punctuated soul, while Jessie J, who has exploded on to the pop scene in 2011, going to No 1 with Price Tag this month, took home the prize for best newcomer.
Canadian indie rockers Arcade Fire continued their good run, winning best international group and best international album, after taking home a Grammy on Sunday for album of the year for The Suburbs.
Accepting the awards the band paid tribute to the British bands that had changed their lives. "From New Order to David Bowie, The Clash, Culture Club, Depeche Mode and The Smiths. Thank you Britain, thank you so much."
American rapper Cee Lo Green, singer of the hugely popular, if not charmingly titled, Fuck You (or Forget You, depending on your radio station), took home the award for best international male solo artist while Rihanna won best international female solo artist.
The Brits may have been all about the music, but proof that the awards still enjoy a little unadulterated bubble-gum pop came in the perfectly coiffed form of the teen
idol Justin Bieber, who took home the award for best international breakthrough act.

Take That, que han regresado a los escenarios tras una larga separación, y el rapero Tinie Tempah, que se hizo con dos premios, han sido los protagonistas de los Brit Awards, los galardones más importante de la música pop británica.
Tras el regreso al grupo de Robbie Williams, los componentes de Take That abrieron la gala con una actuación y volvieron a subir al escenario para recoger el premio al mejor grupo británico del año.
No lograron sin embargo el "premio gordo" de la noche, el de mejor álbum, al que optaban por 'Progress', el trabajo más vendido del año en el Reino Unido -se vendieron un millón de copias en sólo 24 horas-. El premio al mejor álbum fue para el grupo de folk-rock Mumford And Sons por 'Sigh No More', una de las sorpresas de la noche.
No obstante, Take That, que nunca antes habían ganado el Brit al mejor grupo británico, volvieron a ofrecer una imagen de unidad y agradecieron públicamente a William su "vuelta a casa".
Tinie Tempah fue otro de los grandes nombres de la noche, en una ceremonia de entrega de premios celebrada por primera vez en el O2 Arena, el macroescenario multiusos en el este de Londres, que fue presentada por el popular humorista James Corden.

El quinteto se alzó con el premio al mejor grupo británico, algo que no habían logrado ni siquiera en su época más gloriosa.
La que fuera una de las banda más representativas del pop adolescente no consiguió, sin embargo, el premio gordo de la noche, el de mejor álbum, al que optaban por Progress, el trabajo más vendido del año en Reino Unido. El galardón fue a parar a la banda de neo folk Mumford & sons.
El reconocimiento al primer disco de la banda de Marcus Mumford, Sigh no more, evidenció la hegemonía del folk rock sobre otros estilos musicales en esta edición de la los premios. Otras muestras de ello fueron los premios a la mejor intérprete femenina, para la cantautora Laura Mailing, y los obtenidos por los canadienses Arcade Fire, que fueron premiados por partida doble: mejor grupo internacional y mejor álbum internacional, por su ya consagrada obra The suburbs.
El otro gran nombre de la noche fue el de Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu, más conocido como Tinie Tempah. El rapero londinense, de origen nigeriano, se alzó con el premio al mejor artista británico revelación y al mejor single por Pass out.

Gary Barlow admits to stealing lyrics during early Take That years
Take That’s Gary Barlow has admitted to borrowing lyric ideas from friends and other artists during the band’s early years.
In a recent interview with The Sun the singer confessed to his own lyrical incompetence, saying that he chose to use emotions from other songs or a friend’s stories rather than writing from personal experience.
He said: "Throughout the Nineties I didn't have any views. I always felt lyrics were a weak point for me and I was often a copier of lyrics. I would use other people's emotions. I'd listen to conversations and talk to friends and always stole my lyrics from people around me. I very seldom looked inside myself to write. That's something I've acquired this time round."
However, the singer went on to discuss how his method had changed for the writing of the band’s 2010 smash hit ‘Progress’. Talking about his current writing method, he said: "One of my best tricks is that every now and again I go and see my mum for a few days. I leave a keyboard there and I set it up in front of the window, overlooking the fields. Suddenly I'm in a whole different situation. It's a new environment."
In recent years Barlow has also become more interested with the production side of the songs, choosing to back away from writing responsibilities and lending a hand on the studio desk instead. Talking about his new passion for production, he confessed: "I'm sat there thinking, 'OK, I'm a writer, Mark's a writer, Robbie's a writer. Now, listen, on a three-minute single how much of each individual can you get on? So I had a plan, I thought 'I'm going to become like one of these hip-hop producers and I'm going to make the backing tracks'."

Amanda told them: “That was ace! Your dancing is rubbish, but as an idea it is brilliant.”
The Hoff added: “I think there is a place on this show for you.”
Michael originally buzzed the group off, but later admitted that he had a change of heart, saying: “I really like the idea.”
