GARY Barlow's X Factor hopefuls had to get past his MUM to make it to the live finals of the singing show.

The Take That star flew Marjorie, 66, to Los Angeles to film the judge's house stage this week.

She joined his guest judge Robbie Williams to watch the eight boys' performances and give her verdict.

Judge Gary, 40, told The Sun: "She is in my ear about who she wants. She has been to a few of the audition days and watched the audition tapes."

Gary admitted that, despite his Take That success, his X Factor-mad mum only thought he had "made it" when he got the

judging job.

But she was shocked when he was sometimes booed.

He revealed: "I said to her, 'I have been cheered for 20 years, it is time to be booed'."
