Mark's stag do fun continues

MARK OWEN continued his stag do in style - hitting one of the cities coolest restaurants for dinner.

The cheeky singer was accompanied by bandmates JASON ORANGE, GARY BARLOW and HOWARD DONALD at The Waverly Inn, a favourite of RIHANNA and MADONNA when they are in town.

Despite the occasion, the boys all opted for varying shades of grey - with only Howard injecting a bit of colour with a purple T-shirt.

Sadly former Take That star ROBBIE WILLIAMS opted out of proceedings, spending time in a recording studio instead.

Mark Owen - Take That (including Robbie) Reunion In New York

Nuevas fotos de Gary y Howard en NY

Gary Barlow gives Jake Peach Pride of Britain Award

Pop star Gary Barlow gives a brave 12-year-old boy the biggest surprise of his life when he tells him he's won a Pride of Britain award.

The Take That singer wanted to meet leukaemia survivor Jake Peach after he heard how his music helped him on the road to recovery following a month-long coma.

Gary surprised Jake at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital and told him he has won the award for his incredible fundraising efforts, on target to top more than £600,000.

Overwhelmed, Jake burst into tears as his hero hugged him and handed him a golden envelope - his ticket to the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards sponsored by The Co-operative.

The moment was extra special for Jake as he used to sing along to Take That's Patience after the coma.

His mum Karen said hearing him sing the song gave her hope that he was getting better. Jake, of Southend, Essex, is one of this year's inspirational winners who have all been chosen for their incredible acts of courage, selflessness and bravery.

The schoolboy is set to raise £500,000 for a new lung function unit at Great Ormond Street after helping them secure a sponsorship deal with Arsenal Football Club.

This is on top of £130,000 he has already raised for the hospital by giving speeches he writes himself at fundraising dinners.
While he was sick he also made a video diary of his treatment which is now used to guide other young cancer patients.

Jake, who is now in remission, said: "I can't believe people have nominated me for this award. Meeting Gary Barlow was amazing.

I couldn't believe it, he's a legend."

Gary said: "Pride of Britain is not about celebrities, it's about real people doing amazing things. When I heard about Jake I just had to come here and meet him."

More than 100 stars will be at Pride of Britain 2009 at London's Grosvenor House next Monday.

Pride of Britain will be shown on ITV1, Wednesday October 7, at 8pm.

Take That Party in NYC

Take That's Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Gary Barlow continued to party for Mark's stag do, enjoying dinner together last night before heading to a club in New York City. The boys met up with Robbie Williams earlier in the week and were spotted leaving a recording studio, leading to speculation that they were working on material together. However, the band’s spokesperson, Richard Dawes, said the studio wasn't booked for a recording session, explaining: "They were there approving mixes for a live album that’s due out at the end of November".

Robbie Williams works on new songs with Take That in secret studio reunion - exclusive

Robbie Williams has embraced one of the most talked about reunions in pop history in a studio on the other side of the Atlantic.

The star seems to have buried the hatchet with his old Take That mates and they are back working on songs together.

The boys had arranged to meet in New York for Mark Owens stag do.

But they also made a hush-hush booking of the citys Electric Lady Studios, built for Jimi Hendrix, to thrash out new material to perform together.

It is the first time all five have been working together as a group since Robbie left to pursue a solo career in 1995.

A source said: He is back with Take That in the studio and theyre all writing together again. Robbie wouldnt be happy performing old Take That songs that he has had no part in.

But if they can pen new tracks that theyre all happy with, theyll record them and hell be back with them on stage.

Robbie flew from Los Angeles to New York with his girlfriend, American actress Ayda Field, on Wednesday.

That night he joined Mark, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Jason Orange for dinner.

They got on brilliantly during the boozy get-together over steak and chips at private members club Soho House.

Mark, who will marry his long-term girlfriend Emma Ferguson this winter, was thrilled to see Robbie hugging him and saying: I cant believe youre here.

On Saturday they joined forces again as a band ending 14 years of separation.

Robbie, 35, was spotted arriving at the studio, in Manhattans West Village, at 2.30pm.

The other four left together, with a bodyguard at 9.20pm and walked back to Soho House, where they are believed to be staying.

The band are in the studio **** the final touches to a forthcoming live double album but are expected to write new songs with Robbie.

The source revealed: The lads really did want to celebrate Marks stag do.

But they thought it was the best place to hook up and start writing again without attracting too much attention.

They are nowhere near recording anything. This was a writing session to see how they go.

Rumours of a reunion have been circulating for months, with Robbie making it clear he would like to join the band back on stage.

He has a comeback single, Bodies, and will play his first UK gig in three years at the Roundhouse, North London, next month.

But he has said he cant wait to be part of the band again.

He told the Mirror the five might be back as one for a special appearance at next months Children In Need charity event at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Robbie said: Something will definitely happen. Me and Gary have been hanging out a lot lately, talking things over.

And he told Radio 1s Chris Moyles: I thought Ill just hold off and get my album out and then go and play with my mates.

The massive U-turn followed years of bitter public spats during which the five saw their fortunes rise and fall.

Gary had initial success but was eventually dropped by his record label. Robbie went on to make eight No1 albums.

But his luck began to change and in October 2006 Rudebox, his 10th album overall, had a cool reception.

The other four re-formed Take That in 2005 and met with extraordinary success.

Sales of their album Beautiful World overtook Rudebox.

And the four-man Take That have gone on to sell more than six million albums.

Last year Robbie revealed they had all spent time together in the summer.

He said: The differences weve had have just melted away.

In March, Robbie began recording the album Reality Killed the Video at the same West London studios where Gary Barlow was working.

Producer Trevor Horn said they got on brilliantly well.

Full Take That Band together in Soho

Parece ser la noticia del día: Take That en el soho de NY celebrando la despedida de Mark con la aparición estelar de Robbie.

Hopes of a full Take That reunion gathered pace after a surprise guest turned up for Mark Owen’s stag party – Robbie Williams.

Songwriter Gary Barlow had arranged the stag do in New York on Wednesday, but he hadn’t told Mark, Jason Orange and Howard Donald who else had been invited.
So they were all stunned and delighted when Robbie strolled through the doors of the chic SoHo House restaurant.

Thrilled Mark, who is due to marry long-term girlfriend Emma Ferguson in a top-secret ceremony this winter, hugged Robbie and kept saying: “I can’t believe you’re here.”

It was the first time all five have been in the same room for three years. And their boozy get-together will heighten expectations that Robbie is poised to make a one-off stage appearance with Take That. And we hear the five also discussed offers of appearing at the next F1 Rocks gig.
Our spy at the restaurant confirms: “The lads were all sitting there chatting and Gary kept looking nervously at the door. Suddenly in walked Robbie Williams. Mark jumped out of his chair and gave him a big hug. He had the cheesiest grin on his face. All the lads looked happy to see Robbie. It looked exactly like what it was – old friends getting back together. They spent a couple of hours chatting. They were all well-behaved, not rowdy, although Mark seemed a bit the worse for wear by the end.”

Robbie is even expected to be guest of honour at Mark’s big day.

Robbie talks about drugs and Ayda

Robbie Williams' addiction to prescription drugs almost killed him.

The 'Bodies' singer checked into rehab on his 33rd birthday in February 2007 after realising he was "physically and mentally ill" from years of taking painkillers and anti-depressants.

Speaking about his three-week stint at the Meadows treatment centre in Arizona, Robbie said: "It was damn serious. Robbie Williams does not go into rehab just if his life gets a bit out of control. It was damn serious. Death had to knock on my door to help me with my decision."

The former Take That star - who was smoking 60 cigarettes a day and downing 36 shots of espresso coffee when he went into rehab - admits he constantly lives in fear of a relapse but refuses to let it ruin his life.

He told Germany's Stern magazine: "I have a self-destructive character but does this hold me back from being happy? No."

One of his reasons for the troubled singer's newfound happiness is girlfriend Ayda Field, who has helped the 35-year-old singer turn his life around.

He said: "A friend said, 'Robbie, I know a woman who would be perfect for you,' and he was right.

"She didn't try to change me and just like that, she changed me for the better. I am a very happy man at the moment. I'm now in love with someone who returns this love as strongly as I love her. I've never experienced that before.

"That's what makes me so careful in this relationship, because I don't want to hurt Ayda."

Robbie and Ayda, 30, have been dating for two years and recently moved back to the singer's native UK from Los Angeles ahead of the release of his new album 'Reality Killed The Video Star'.

La madre de Gary prefiere el directo de Coldplay

GARY BARLOW'S COLDPLAY CHALLENGE
Gary Barlow has vowed to improve Take That's live show after his mother told him she enjoyed Coldplay's concert more.

Gary Barlow's mother prefers Coldplay to Take That.

The 'Greatest Day' singer has revealed Marjorie loved his group's spectacular 'Circus' stadium tour - which they undertook earlier this year and which featured elaborate stunts, a 60 ft mechanical elephant and carnival performers - but has now told him they need to improve after watching the 'Viva La Vida' hitmakers' concert in London last week.

He said: "My mum was blown away by Coldplay. She thought we were brilliant but they were better - and wasn't afraid to tell me.

"So I'll have to up the ante for the next tour."

As well as planning a new live show, Gary - who has contributed tracks to Dame Shirley Bassey's new album - has set his sights on a new collaboration.

The singer wants to work with 'Holiday' star Dizzee Rascal on a single - believed to be for charity Children In Need - but has been shunned by the 'Bonkers' rapper so far.

Speaking at the London launch of Shirley's album 'The Performance', Gary added: "I want to work with Dizzee but he's not interested - he told me he wants Shirley.

"Can you imagine the two of them? It would be incredible. They should do something."

Robbie Williams set to reunite with Take That - for one night only

HE snubbed their reunion and got left out in the cold – but now Robbie Williams and Take That plan to relight their fire, on stage.

We can reveal that Gary Barlow has asked Robbie to perform his new single, Bodies, at next month’s Children In Need charity extravaganza at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

And with Jason, Mark and Howard also lurking in the wings that night, surely they will all join for one little song?

Robbie and Gary have been working together for months trying to concoct something special.

And they figured that a Children In Need fundraiser was a fantastic reason to finally reunite. Robbie tells us: “Yes something is definitely going to happen. Me and Gary have been hanging out a lot lately, talking things over.

Robbie, 35, had considered rejoining Take That on stage while they were on tour. But he feared it might look as if he was trying to jump on their bandwagon. So this one-night-only special is ideal.

Gary has rounded up some top British talent to perform at the event, including Chris Martin, Leona Lewis and Mika.

When we asked Mika about Robbie rejoining the lads he said: “That’s what I hear. It would be great. I’m a real fan of Robbie and I really like his new single.

“I’ll be performing a duet. I can’t say who with yet, there are going to be a lot of surprises.

“Gary has done a fantastic job, it’s going to be an amazing night.”

A pity it’s just one night and Robbie is not Back For Good…

It's the strictly undanceable new Alesha Dixon single

Here's something for the weekend: Alesha Dixon's unexpectedly understated, Gary Barlow co-written new single 'To Love Again'.
A very simple, unshowy-offy, sober and uncloyingly emotional ballad. We'll get back to you on this in seven days but for now 'To Love Again' gets a thumbs up.
