Gary Barlow has apparently admitted that Take That's famous split had disastrous repercussions on his own life.According to Digitalspy.co.uk, the star lost control of his spending when the group parted ways back in 1996.
When his solo career failed to take off, the singer apparently said he threw away a fortune on needless luxuries.
Gary reportedly confessed: "You should have seen my house! It was this whole thing of, 'I'm absolutely massive now. I'm rich'.
"We had a huge house but I was forever extending it. It got out of hand in such a big way. Such a cliché."
And, recalling his reckless indulgence, he added: "The fact that I had three houses just full of gear and I'd look at my bank statements and it was just all these numbers. And I'd think, 'Well, it must be right because it's written down here'. I lost control of my life."
But it seems that, with the band back on track, Gary has also got his life back under control - he has now sold his mansion and many of his belongings.
